Separation of Ammonium Chloride, Copper (II) Oxide and Sodium Chloride

Question

A mixture contains ammonium chloride, copper (ii) oxide and sodium chloride. Describe how each of the substances can be obtained from the mixture

Answer

Heat the mixture to sublime ammonium chloride. Add water to dissolve sodium chloride, the copper (II) oxide does not dissolve. Filter to remove the copper (II) oxide. Evaporate the filtrate to obtain sodium chloride.
