Use of Quantifiers in Countable and Uncountable Nouns

Quantifiers are used to state the quantity of various things, we use words that show quantity.
Examples of quantifiers include some, much, and many.
To do this correctly, we have to know whether the noun is countable or uncountable.

Examples of Countable Nouns

Countable nouns can be counted e.g.
3 People
1 Tree
6 Animals
2 Bottles
7 Buildings
20 Pens
1 Book

Examples using quantifiers correctly

1. How many pupils are in your class?
2.There aren't pupils in the class.
3. Is there a dog in the park?

Examples of Uncountable Nouns

Uncountable nouns cannot be counted e.g.
Air
Soil
Flour
Water
Food
Sugar

Examples using quantifiers correctly

1. How much sugar is in this dish?
2. Is there any food in the cupboard?
3. There's some milk in the fridge.
