Advantages of Reproduction by Seeds

Disadvantages of Reproduction by Seeds

1. Some seeds have very low viability.
2. Some seeds have long dormancy and may need special treatment in order to germinate.
3. Seeds are less likely to survive harsh environmental (soil) conditions;
4. Resultant offsprings have slow maturity rate;
5. Good parental traits may be lost due to recombination while bad (defective) recessive traits in parents may be expressed in offsprings
