Explain why continuous use of antibiotics results to resistance.
Answer
The antibiotic destroys the normal forms; of the bacteria while the mutant forms survive; when bacteria are exposed to antibiotics they become adapted to living in the presence of the drug; the gene is passed to the offspring therefore establishing a population of drug resistance.
