Introduction to the Clouds

- Clouds have different shapes and colours.
- The types of clouds in the sky are:

1. Cumulus clouds.
2. Nimbus clouds.
3. Cirrus clouds.
4. Stratus clouds

Nimbus Clouds

Characteristics of Nimbus Clouds

1. They are dark grey in colour.
2. They appear low in the sky.
3. They cover large part of the sky and are grey in colour.
4. They indicate heavy rainfall which is accompanied by lightning and thunderstorms.

Cirrus Clouds

Characteristics of Cirrus Clouds

1. They appear whitish.
2. They look like balls of cotton wool.
3. They are high in the sky.
4. They produce little rain.

Stratus Clouds

Characteristics of Stratus Clouds

1. They look like white sheet covering the sky
2. The sheets are arranged in the sky.
3. They appear low sometimes hanging like mountains
